MELTZERSELTZER COMMUNITY GUIDELINES
Our Core Values
This community is rooted in authenticity, connection, ambition, intuition, adventure, respect, vulnerability, empathy, and an abundance mindset. We're here to support each other, not to perform.
Mindset
We believe there's room at the top for everyone. Rising tides lift all boats – an abundance mindset changes everything.
Communication Format
- Please use the “reply in a thread” feature in chat spaces and the comments in post spaces to keep us organized, rather than replying directly in the main channels.
- This is primarily an async community to relieve the pressure of constant engagement. Rachel will do her best to respond within 24 business hours where possible.
Participation
- Keep our Circle community page open and make it part of your daily life.
- Ask for help and give help in return.
- Over-index on support and encouragement. Utilize the Pep Talks space!
- This isn't about being perfect - bring your authentic self, flaws, doubts, victories, and comebacks included.
Attention to Detail
Please take a moment to thoroughly read instructions, especially in the opportunities channel!
No Self-Promotion
This community is run by MeltzerSeltzer and Rachel Meltzer, who offer coaching and educational programs for freelance writers. Please come here to learn, find opportunities, and network – not to promote yourself. This includes the DMs!
Any self-promotion, especially of competing products/programs, will be removed. If you have questions about something you want to post, just DM Rachel!
If you want to become a host or mentor, please DM Rachel! We always have 3 hosts and 2 mentors on our team to support the community and host events. If you want to become a guest speaker, we have 2 opportunities per month for paid guest workshops – email Rachel (rachelhmeltzer@gmail.com) with your idea!
Live Room Guidelines
We're excited to offer our "live room" feature for co-working and socializing. To ensure everyone's comfort and safety:
- Be respectful and professional at all times.
- Use the live room for its intended purposes: co-working and casual socializing.
- Do not share sensitive personal information or specific client details.
- If you notice any inappropriate behavior, please report it to a moderator, admin, host, or mentor (you can see who has one of these titles in our Member Directory – they’re all tagged) (or email rachelhmeltzer@gmail.com or hosts@meltzerseltzer.com) immediately.
- No recording of live sessions without explicit permission from all participants.
- Be mindful of background noise and visuals.
- Feel free to come and go as you please, but try not to disrupt ongoing conversations.
While our moderators do not sit and watch every second of everything that goes on in the Live Room feature, we do have access to recordings of every live room that happens in the MeltzerSeltzer community. This footage is only used to ensure our guidelines are being adhered to. It will never be used or released publicly in any way.
But these rooms are monitored so please no unsolicited self-promotion, bigotry, antisemitism, anti-gay speech, anti-trans speech, sexist actions, uncomfortably political topics, bullying, harassment, sexual communications, or any other unprofessional or abusive behavior. Any of these actions will result in removal from our community.
We’ve NEVER had an issue with ANY of these things but I want to make sure the guidelines are CRYSTAL CLEAR so that action can be taken if necessary and all new members understand the community they’re joining so that it remains a safe space for everyone.
DM Etiquette
Direct messages (DMs) are for building genuine connections, not for pitching or self-promotion. To maintain a positive community environment:
- Do not use DMs for unsolicited self-promotion or pitching of products/services.
- Ask permission before adding someone to a group DM.
- Keep conversations supportive and respectful.
- If you receive inappropriate DMs, please report them to a moderator, admin, host, or mentor (you can see who has one of these titles in our Member Directory – they’re all tagged).
- Use DMs to continue relevant conversations or offer specific help, not to circumvent community guidelines.
Violations
Violation of any of these guidelines may result in removal from the community. Anyone removed because of a violation will not receive a refund and will lose access to everything Pop Club related. Let's work together to keep this space supportive, productive, and enjoyable for everyone!
