These prompts are designed to help you write your LinkedIn headline and About section using any AI tool — Claude, ChatGPT, or whatever you prefer. They work the same way regardless of which tool you use.

How to use these prompts:

  1. Copy the prompt and paste it into your AI tool of choice
  2. The AI will ask you a series of questions — answer them as specifically and honestly as you can. The more detail you give, the better the output
  3. Take what it gives you and edit it in your own voice before you publish — AI is a starting point, not a finished product. Nothing goes on your profile without a human pass

Headline prompt

I want to craft a LinkedIn headline that stands out, attracts potential clients, and gets me booked consistently.

Please follow these guidelines when creating my headline:

Clarify my role and expertise: Start by stating my current role or freelance focus in a descriptive way that highlights my niche or area of expertise. For example, instead of just "Freelance Digital Marketer," something like "SEO Strategist & Content Consultant | Helping SaaS Brands Rank and Convert."

Showcase my value proposition: Communicate the unique value I bring by including 1–2 skills or results I deliver for clients. For example, "Email Strategist | Builds Sequences That Convert" or "Brand Voice Specialist | Helps Companies Sound Like Themselves."

Incorporate keywords: Use industry-specific keywords that enhance my profile's searchability and make it easier for potential clients to find me.

Keep it short and structured: Use the full character limit wisely but keep it concise. Use vertical bars (|) to separate keywords and avoid unnecessary filler words.

Follow this format:

  • Current status (e.g., "Freelance SEO Strategist | Remote | Open to Projects")
  • 2 skills or keywords (e.g., "Content Strategy | Organic Growth")
  • 1 industry keyword (e.g., "SaaS" or "Outdoor Brands")
  • 1 big accomplishment if applicable (e.g., "Helped Clients 3x Organic Traffic")
  • 1 big name or niche if applicable (e.g., "Specialist for B2B Tech Brands")

Please ask me the following questions to gather the information you need, then draft a headline that follows these guidelines and aligns with my freelance business goals:

  1. What is my freelance role or niche?
  2. What are the 1–2 skills or outcomes I'm best known for?
  3. What specific industries or types of clients do I specialize in?
  4. Do I have any notable achievements, results, or metrics that stand out?
  5. Have I worked with any recognizable brands, clients, or in specific niches?
  6. How do I want my tone to come across — professional, approachable, creative, something else?
