A complete swipe file of LinkedIn post ideas, AI prompts, post frameworks, hooks, and CTAs organized by funnel stage — your go-to resource for writing intentional content that actually helps you get clients.
15 mins
Posting on LinkedIn can help you get clients — but it's not required, and it's not where you should start. You need a strong profile and consistent outreach first. If you haven't done that groundwork yet, head back to the LinkedIn lessons in the Getting Clients chapter before diving into content.
That said, if you do want to post — and eventually you probably will — this lesson is your resource library. Come back to it whenever you need ideas, prompts, or a framework to work from. You don't need to read it all at once.
How to use this lesson
This is a reference document, not a to-do list. Use it when:
- You want to write a post but don't know where to start
- You're trying to plan out a month of content
- You need a prompt to feed into AI to draft something faster
- You want to vary your content beyond what you've been posting
How to use the AI prompts:
- Before you start, give your AI tool some context about you — your services, your ideal client, and your brand voice. If you've built a Mini Brand Voice Guide [link to come], paste that in first. It makes a significant difference in output quality.
- Gather the "info to provide" listed under each prompt, then paste both the info and the prompt into Claude, ChatGPT, or whatever tool you use.
- Go one prompt at a time — AI tools aren't great at bulk content orders.
- Always edit the output in your own voice before posting. Nothing goes live without a human pass.

Post frameworks, hooks, and CTAs by funnel stage
The prompts above are great for generating ideas. The frameworks below are for when you want more structural control over how a post is built — or when you're writing without AI and want a reliable format to follow.
These are organized by where they sit in the funnel: Awareness (building visibility and trust), Consideration (showing expertise and proof), and Conversion (inviting action).
Awareness
POST FRAMEWORK: POV Post (Perspective + Personal Story)
- Hook: A belief, observation, or shift in perspective
- Middle: Back it up with a story, lesson, or example
- Close: An insight or takeaway that helps your ideal client
- Optional CTA: Invite them to share their take
Example: "When I first started freelancing, I thought clients cared most about price. Turns out, they care way more about process, clarity, and confidence. Here's what changed when I stopped low-balling and started leading…"
POST FRAMEWORK: "What You Might Be Getting Wrong" Post (Spicy + Helpful)
- Hook: Call out a common misconception
- Middle: Share why it's not working
- Close: Offer a reframe or better approach
- Optional CTA: Ask your audience how they handle it
Example: "Posting daily won't save a broken offer. Content isn't a band-aid for a business that's not working — it's a magnet for what is. Here's what to focus on instead…"
POST FRAMEWORK: "What No One Talks About" Post (Relatable Truth)
- Hook: A vulnerable, under-discussed truth about your work or niche
- Middle: Describe the situation, feelings, or gap in the conversation
- Close: A small insight or encouragement
- Optional CTA: Ask if others feel this too
Example: "No one warns you that 'booking out' can still feel scary. I hit my first $10k month and immediately panicked about sustaining it. That's the thing about milestones — they're not the finish line, just a new kind of mental math…"
PROMPTS:
- "What's something you used to believe or do — that totally changed once you gained more experience?" Bonus: turn this into a "this vs. that" post.
- "What's one thing people in your industry say all the time — that you completely disagree with? Why?"
- "What would you say to your past self 1 year ago in your business? What's changed? How could your clients make that same change?"
- "What's something unexpected that helped you get better results for your clients or improve the service you offer?"
CALLS FOR ENGAGEMENT:
- "[YOUR IDEAL CLIENT'S TITLE]: What's been your experience with ____?" — Great for sharing a hot take or hard truth. Helps you see where your audience stands.
- "What's the hardest part of [X] for you right now?" — Use after a post about your client's core challenge.
- "What's something you know you've been avoiding?" — Pairs well with mindset or pain point posts.
- "If this sounds familiar, drop a comment or DM — I want to hear how you're navigating it." — Creates safe space and signals you're open to deeper dialogue.
Consideration
POST FRAMEWORK: Case Study Lite (Problem → Process → Payoff)
- Hook: Highlight a challenge your client was facing
- Middle: Share how you approached it with a peek at your process
- Close: The result and what others can learn from it
- Optional CTA: Invite others facing the same issue to connect
Example: "My client was getting traffic but no conversions. We rebuilt their email sequence — and within 3 weeks, their click-throughs tripled. Here's what we changed and why it worked…"
POST FRAMEWORK: "Here's How I Think About X" Post (Teach + Lead)
- Hook: A common problem or myth in your niche
- Middle: Break it down with examples or reframe it
- Close: Your POV and what you recommend instead
- Optional CTA: Ask for their experience or questions
Example: "Everyone says you need SEO to grow — but what they don't say is that bad SEO strategy can waste months. Here's how I guide clients toward smarter content…"
POST FRAMEWORK: The "Mini Training" Post (Show Your Method)
- Hook: Present a situation your ideal client might be in
- Middle: Share 3–5 steps you'd take to solve it
- Close: A small win or invitation to explore your services
Example: "If your blog traffic is flat, try this: 1. Run a 6-month content audit. 2. Update CTAs in your top 10 posts. 3. Repurpose one piece into 3 formats. 4. Add a lead magnet link mid-post. 5. Schedule a promo post on LinkedIn. Small tweaks → real results."
PROMPTS:
- "Write a behind-the-scenes LinkedIn post about a recent project I'm working on for [industry or client type]. Highlight what made it exciting, what I'm learning, and what the client needed."
- "Write a short, helpful post showing how I helped a client go from [problem] to [result], and include a subtle call to action to connect or learn more." (PASo formula)
- "Write a spicy-but-kind post about a common way people get [your service] wrong, why it backfires, and how I do it differently."
- "Write a post that introduces my unique process or philosophy around [your service], explaining what makes it different and who it's perfect for."
- "Turn a question you're always asked into a post." Answer the question and share your take.
CALLS FOR ENGAGEMENT:
- "Have you ever run into this too?" — Makes your audience feel seen.
- "What's your take — would you have done it differently?" — Great for case study breakdowns.
- "Curious how you're handling this — drop your approach in the comments." — Invites peer-led learning.
- "Thinking of doing a free workshop/resource on this — would you want the link when it's live?" — Soft ask that gauges interest and builds your lead list.
- "Want the [freebie name]? Drop 'YES' in the comments and I'll reply with the link!" — Reply manually to each comment with the direct link. It dramatically increases engagement and gets people on your email list.
Conversion
POST FRAMEWORK: The Availability Post (Direct + Easy)
- Hook: Announce your availability — specific and time-bound
- Middle: Describe the kind of client or project you're excited to work with
- Close: Clear CTA — how to get in touch or what to do next
Example: "🗓️ AVAILABILITY UPDATE! I've got room for 1 new client in [service area] starting [date]. We could: launch a newsletter, clean up your content strategy, or turn your case studies into client-magnets. DM me or book a call — let's make it happen."
POST FRAMEWORK: The Offer Breakdown Post (Build Excitement)
- Hook: Introduce your offer — DFY package, retainer, or seasonal promo
- Middle: Break down the what, how, and why
- Close: Who it's for and how to claim it
Example: "🎯 I'm offering a limited number of [offer] spots this month. Here's how it works: [numbered list]. This is perfect for [ideal client] who don't want to [what they're avoiding]. Want one of the spots? Drop a comment or DM me."
POST FRAMEWORK: The Social Proof Post (Build Trust + Nudge Action)
- Hook: Share a client win, testimonial, or transformation
- Middle: The short backstory or what made it a success
- Close: Connect it to your current offer or invite action
Example: "This content sounds like you wrote it." That's what a ghostwriting client said last week — and why I do this work. We wrote 20 posts, gained 1,100 new followers, and booked 3 discovery calls in under 30 days. If you want that too, I've got 2 ghostwriting spots open. DM me "LinkedIn" and I'll send details."
PROMPTS:
- "Write a short LinkedIn post that shares my availability for new projects, emphasizes who I love working with, and includes a CTA to book a discovery call or DM me."
- "Write a LinkedIn post about a recent project win, focusing on the results it got. Break it down in plain English and explain what made it work."
- "Write a short LinkedIn post announcing a new service, retainer offer, or seasonal promo. Include who it's for, what they get, and how to book."
- "Write a post that hints at a client transformation or success, then invites readers to book a call to learn how it could work for them."
- "Drop 'YES' in the comments and I'll send you my [lead magnet name] to help you [desired result]."
CALLS FOR ENGAGEMENT:
- "I've got a few open spots this month for [your service type]..." — Describe what you do, who you help, then ask: "What's one thing in your business you've been avoiding — even though you know it would make a difference? Drop it in the comments (or just say 'me 🙋🏻') and I'll send you a quick idea for how to start."
- "A recent client [transformation] — and the part that surprised them most?..." — Tell the story, share the result, then ask: "Curious — have you ever hired someone to help with this kind of thing? Drop a YES or NO below."
- "A lot of people think [common belief] is enough. But it usually backfires..." — Share your approach, then ask: "What's something in your business you've been 'figuring out as you go' for too long? Drop it in the comments — I might have a suggestion that saves you hours."
- "If [core challenge your audience faces], I made something to help..." — Describe your freebie, then: "Want the link? Drop [keyword] in the comments and I'll reply with the link to grab it via email."
